Next school year, we (The Meadows School in Las Vegas) will be using Khan Academy and other online resources to try and enhance learning in our classrooms. The classes involved will be our entire 4th grade, 8th grade math, Organic Chemistry, Money Banking and Finance, and Honors Physics.
The classroom styles, pedagogy, and teaching techniques will be varied and evolving as the year progresses. We will be keeping a record of our experiences here both to provide feedback for Khan Academy and to provide The Meadows School with valuable insight on how this type of learning fits in with the rigorous and traditional curriculum we provide. Teachers will be posting their reflections every few weeks when next school year begins.
We are already hard at work trying to organize our courses, retool, compile and create the resources necessary to make this Khan Academy Institute of 21st Century Learning as successful as possible.
